Vasileios Tatanis was born in Piraeus, Greece, in 1989. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2013. He received his specialization in Urology from the 1st Urology Department of the University of Athens at Laiko Hospital in 2019 and has obtained a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens since 2024. After completing his specialization in Urology, he completed further subspecialization in Pediatric Urology at the Pediatric Urology Department of Hacettepe University in Ankara and he obtained the FEAPU certification in 2022. His training covered the full spectrum of pediatric urological conditions. 

He was a scientific associate at the Urology Department of the University of Patras until 2023. He has authored more than 50 scientific articles in international journals and chapters in international books. He has been a board member of the Patient Office of the Hellenic Urological Association since 2022 and the Pediatric Urology section of the Hellenic Urological Association since 2023. In addition, he is a member of the Young Academic Urologists (YAU) of the European Association of Urology (EAU), in the pediatric urology section. He is also an associate member of the Working Group on Pediatric Urology of the European Association of Urology (EAU).

Since 2025, he has been an Assistant Professor in Urology at the University of Patras and head of its Pediatric Urology division.
