Deniz Demirci

He was born in 1965 in the town of Yeşilkent (Sarız/Kayseri). He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Kayseri.

He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1990.

He began his urology training in the Department of Urology at Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in 1991 and became a Urology Specialist in 1997.

Between 1997 and 1998, he worked as a urologist with Prof. Dr. Martin Westenfelder at Maria Hilf Krankenhaus in Krefeld, Germany. In 2003, he was a visiting physician at Ohio State University Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States.

He became an Associate Professor in 2004 and a Professor of Urology in 2009.

As a specialist in Urology and Pediatric Urology, he has experience in Robotic Urology, Endourology, and Reconstructive Urology and has authored numerous national and international articles and book chapters. He has edited a book titled “Disorders of Sexual Development.”

Prof. Dr. Deniz Demirci has described the “Combined Technique,” a new approach to the surgical treatment of Vesicoureteral Reflux (VUR). The study on the technique was published in the Turkish Journal of Urology in 2022.

He holds a patent for the DND Urethral Catheter and was awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Erciyes University Rectorate.

He is an active member of the Turkish Urological Association, the European Association of Urology (EAU), and the Turkish Association of Pediatric Urology.

He serves on the Honorary Board of the Turkish Urological Association.
